I have an old souvenier print, in its original, unopened sleeve, of the original LAX terminal, that my Father brought back from a visit to California, before we moved here, ca. 1960.

The artist is listed as "S. Souvevran" (or Soubeyran??)
The sky is shades of maroon, and the terminal is bordered with "Block" glass, and there are a few palm trees, in the left foreground.
There is a jet in the sky, upper right.
It is mounted on matting cardboard, and the size is approximately 11" x 14", the print being 8" x 11".
It is in near-pristine condition, with only a tiny crease at the top-left corner of the matt-board
If anyone has any info as to the possible value of my print, as a "collectible", I would greatly appreciate it.
I have attached a copy of the print.
Thank You!

Just FYI that is the theme building and not a terminal. There is a lot of information on the LAX Theme Building on Wikipedia and other sites.

Your print is cool (I love old airport stuff) but I have no idea of what the value would be.

Your image looks very similar to a copy/print of a perspective view of the Theme Building my Dad has in his office, signed by Charles Luckman (the Luckmans are old family friends).

I do not believe your image is a Luckman Architects image, but if it was, and was original, it would be very valuable.

What I can tell you, is that your image appears to be created after the buildings construction, as the original plans varied slightly from the finished product, so it was not a rendering, but rather a capture of the actual structure.

Hello, DynamoLA, and 1200RT!
It is very nice to meet both of you.
Please forgive my ignorance that it is the "Theme Building", I have been through LAX several times, and just remember having seen the building, and the print among my father's collection of photos. (it is NOT a photo) My picture appears to be a "print" (possibly a screenprint-watercolor??) and the signature is "S. Soubevran" or "Soubeyran", but the time-frame that he bought it is the same, around 1960-61, as he worked for the Dept. of Navy, and had come out to California, from Virginia, to scout out a place to live, as he was being transferred to the now-closed Naval Weapons Center, in Norco, California.
But both pictures are very similar!
Thank you very much for the information!
Sincerely,
"purrmomma"
