Does weather need to be 'eventful'?...

A 5.8 earthquake is not scary at all....its kinda fun..it has to be 7 or bigger to scare me.....

The other 3 events would generate more response from native Angelenos but which one would be the most so?

It has rained in June and August in Los Angeles but never in July. Any kind of rain from May through September is pretty rare.

That story was from 1991 though so not sure if it counts as much as a story in the past 10 years.
If it happened today, would it generate more FB and twitter posts from Angelenos than the other 3 stories?ke
It was big enough news to make the front page of the L.A. Times but the real test is how locals react to it...

Last couple of days brought quite a bit of rain for May but was it enough to trump any of the other events I listed?

The mountains around LA will sometimes see large billowing cumulonimbus clouds during the Summertime. This is caused by the flow of monsoonal moisture from Arizona which seeps over into the desert areas of Southern California from June through about October. Sometimes it is possible to see beautiful thunderstorms erupting over the mountains and deserts from the LA Basin.

If we get really lucky, the monsoonal moisture flow will be strong enough to push all of the way to the coast and give us a thunderstorm over the LA Basin too.
