What is your housing price range or rental budget?
Where will you be working?
What line of work are you in?

Thanks for your answer.
I would like to rent until I get to know the area. My rental budget $2000 max.
My wife is a nurse. I am in the retail business. I would like to open retail business and work for myself. It doesn't matter for me. I can drive 35-40 minutes from where I live.
I am looking for low crime, good school district , and a clean neighborhood. Most postings are for LA, but i am interested in living outside of the LA area and would like more information. My other concern or question per say is, where does most of the fire' or mudslide occur in california? Thanks!

Well, outside of LA, you have Santa Clarita which is fairly inexpensive, safe, and with good schools, but they got lots of fires.

I would suggest Thousand Oaks in Ventura County. Extremely family orientated, very safe, good schools. Simi Valley, T.O.'s neighbor, is your next best option.

Im a big fan of Thousand Oaks and Simi Valley. Very safe and just outside of the noise and traffic of LA.

I live in San Dimas and love it here. a small community in So Cal standards as are the other cities you've listed. If you can get it worked out as far as work goes Claremont would be a great place to be. I would rank San Dimas upland then LaVerne, in that order after Claremont. Stay away from Pomona and you'll be fine. Can't beat the area the traffic is alot lighter here on the surface streets, they are also cleaner city with less crime.

The one draw back to the area is its not located near the job centers, LA or Irvine, they are both a decent drive away if you have a studio or tech type job.
