No, this is a low pressure system sliding down the coast from the north. It's generating a lot of excitement, though, because this kind of weather (measurable rainfall) is pretty rare in May!

By the way, low clouds and fog at this time of year is generally called "May grey" until June, and then it's "June gloom".

if you live on/near the coast, there will be days when you won't see the sun.

It stays cloudy and sometimes foggy on/near the coast but mostly burns off by noon with bright sunshine.

We should all get a tax break or discount on our rent/mortgage payments because of the crappy weather!

Personally, I like this weather. It suits my doom and gloom mood these days.

I alsays liked June Gloom. You don't need sunblock, sun glasses, or A/C, and it's "room temperature" outside.

Ditto That's my favorite weather and love it when it's like that for days, or even (gasp) weeks on end. I even like it when it's cooler than "room temperature." And I don't mind damp/drizzly/misty/raining either.

I know, right? I guess if you wanted to work on your wrinkles and skin cancer, it wouldn't be good. And it's usually somewhat bright, but not sun-in-your-eyes bright. Windows open or closed, doesn't make any diference. It doesn't bother me at all.

I like the May-June weather too. Out here in the IE, the marine layer hangs in till about noon. We can actually smell the salty air, even though the nearest beach is 35 miles away. Then, when it burns off, the afternoons are warm and sunny.

Much prefer that weather pattern to the July-Sept Sonoran one, with hot, sticky air flowing up from the Gulf of Ca, 100 degree temps, 80% humidity, and the stink from fish die-offs at the Salton Sea
