10 cents a scoop is the price I remember. Man, and to think I went on to take up smoking...

I just remember when it was $0.69 for a single and $.99 for a double. Haven't been there in years, but I believe my favorite flavor was Chocolate Malted Ball Crunch or something like that. Their Rocky Road was pretty good too though.

Many, many years ago I worked at Thrify's. I survived on those 5 cent scoops til payday, along w/ my pop bottle returns that used to fill my VW.
I do miss the ice cream, but not dipping it

Remember it well as a kid. With only a few cents in our pockets, my friends and I made this stop a priority during a long bike ride. Was quite a bargain.

I remember Thrify's ice cream when I was a kid. I wonder how long it's been, many yrs I suppose. I remember they were cheap and good too. It seemed liked there was always a line too.

True it has gone up in price...but what hasn't?.

Do you know of any places serving cheaper ice cream? I'd really like to hear about them.

Dad would buy a party pack for birthdays...

Thrifty was square with a saran wrap cover... lots of ice cream in that Party Pack... 4 gallons???

Local Thrifty closed many years ago... and now, the name no longer exists... at least in my area.

I think Rite Aid bought out Thrifty a while back. The name only exists as an ice cream brand now. I ended up getting a scoop today and my local Rite Aid--which used to be a Thrifty.
