The Laemmle Theater (Colorado and El Molino) has a sign saying not to give things to panhandlers as there have been security problems. Does anyone know what the problems are?

I just saw a city council meeting where a Target employee (just east of the theater) said there were problems with panhandling and/or harassment from people who set up charity tables. I think she meant the area behind the Target where you walk to the parking lot. I haven't seen any problems there, have you?

I worked in the area when I lived in Southern California and there were no such issues. Perhaps, I saw a panhandler once a month or so, but they were not aggressive. I walked the area a lot, from Old Town to Lake/Colorado and always felt very safe.

I dunno. I pass by there all the time on the way to the gym and I don't see many panhandlers. Nothing extreme anyway. They're more concentrated further east on Colorado.

I finally saw it at the Target. I called this the depression version of Wall-E. We were walking around the store and some huge woman in a cart came up to us and asked for any change. When I said no she continued to drive around the store doing the same thing to others.
