when i read the thread title i thought you were talking about actual canyons i.e. runyon canyon.

Nah, more of a concrete canyon. L.A. has them but they're over before you know it. Either that, or they only look like a canyon from a certain angle, then behind that big building is a bunch of strip malls.

haha that would make a great thread too.

Wilshire is definitely not the only one. Vine Street has a bit of a canyon effect in Hollywood, in Westwood there are some urban canyons, and then of course dozens in DTLA.

Wilshire is the only one that is truly urban, IMO. It just goes on and on. There are other mini-ones such as Santa Monica and Hollywood.
