Assuming a 7:30 game/concert, what is the best route to Staples Center from Sunset and Doheny in West Hollywood?

If I were you, I'd drive to Hollywood and Highland. Park your car for free at the Red Line station. Take the Red Line to the Blue Line. Take the Blue Line to the Pico exit. Walk one block. Then you won't have to worry about traffic or paying an outrageous price to park.

If you insist on driving just like 99.9999999% of LA, either Sunset to the 101S to the 110S or Santa Monica Blvd to Western to Olympic.

I'd also say take mass transit. God knows if there's one thing LA needs, it's less cars on the road!

The only thing I'd watch out for is what time the last train leaves the station. Don't trains stop running around midnight or something?

the train is aways faster and cheaper. Keep in mind you'll have a 15-25 fee for parking once you get there. Is also better to sober up on the train

If you decide to drive and want to avoid the freeways, you can drive down to Olympic and take it straight to Staples Center. If you get mostly green lights, it will be a breeze.

That's 10 miles and will take a minimum of 30 minutes, with no traffic. But more realistically about 45.

That's a minimum. The last time I came from Beverly Hills to downtown, via Olympic, leaving BH at 6:45, it took me 30 minutes. And there was little traffic and the lights weren't too bad. Sunset and Doheny is another 5-10 minutes.
