When were living costs between LA and SF comparable? Cost of living indices has SF at around 170 and LA at around 135, 100 being average.

It was interesting how low prices had gone down on Oakland real estate during the crash...while prices in SF hardly budged from their super high prices.
I'd probably move to Oakland / Berkeley if I was going back up to the Bay Area (which may happen eventually). There are some surprisingly nice areas in Oakland, even in the areas right around its downtown.
