People will tell you different things, but, I'm right and anyone who disagrees with me is wrong. There is only one true answer. La Cienega! ;-)

I think there are other threads about this, but my line is basically Fairfax. However the stuff east of that wouldn't be considered the "Eastside", I'd say it is just Central LA.

There's more than one answer for this. I think most would say La Cienega. La Cienega is the eastern border of Beverly Hills and Culver City (I know a small amount of BH goes to San Vicente and a small amount of CC goes to Fairfax, but generally speaking), which are the two easternmost westside cities. The most tony, westside part of WeHo also stretches to La Cienega. At La Cienega are the last bastions of westside culture like the Beverly Center and Cedars.

La Cienega is about 8 miles from the beach in Santa Monica, and is pretty much the halfway point between Santa Monica and Downtown LA.

to some degree the Westside culture spreads as far east as La Brea Ave, or Western Ave if you take in Hancock Park and the nice parts of Hollywood.

I call Westside - West of Central LA, West of Robertson Blvd ,West of South Central LA. South of Mountains, and North of LAX. Westside would include Santa Monica, Culver City, Venice, Mar Vista, Palms, Westchester, West LA,Westwood, Centry City, Beverly Hills, Beverlywood. I think West Hollywoods want to be West Hollywood and not associated with anyone else. A long long time ago westside was simply west of downtown. Of course people will disagree

Or you can think of the westside is wherever the propeties get too expensive and people don't have air conditioners.

The area south of the airport which is not LA city, is call the Southbay. Although there is a stip of Land that is LA City that runs from LA to the Water just so LA could be a port city.

I pretty much agree with this (you forgot Brentwood, Pacific Palisades, Bel Air, Holmby Hills, Marina del rey, Playa del rey). West Hollywood is its own culture that doesn't quite fit in with the Westside, but the portion of WeHo west of La Cienega has pretty much become East Beverly Hills. So the La Cienega line works at this point.

No , just got tired of typing too many areas.

Find a $250,000 home , now go west until home the same size is $500,000. Welcome to the westside.
