There is a difference between Jewish and Israeli - I think the cliche is that the entertainment industry is heavily influenced by Jewish people. But I don't think these people are really from Israel or anything, most likely more European.

But does the fact your Jewish can make it easier for you to enter the entertainment industry, specially if your coming from Israel ???
What I am trying to say is, is there a political role when choosing an entertainer for a specific role (acting/singing etc...) ??? or is it about the Talent and connections ???

i've worked on the business side of the entertainment industry for over 8 years. it is true that there are a many jewish people who also work in the industry. however, in all of this time I have only worked with one israeli. i also wouldn't necessarily say that being jewish gives you an advantage, it's just that jews seems to educate/train themselves very well to succeed in the entertainment industry (or any industry they participate in for that matter). if you are jewish and have no skills, you'll be just as out of luck as the next person with no skills.

What if your Jewish and you have skills, would it be easier for you to enter the industry ?

I heard that there are about 50,000 Israeli's in L.A. but I don't have a source. It sounds about right. The vast majority are not in the entertainment biz. There is a list on Wikipedia of Israeli-American actors. I think the OP is unclear if he is asking about Israelis or Jews in general.

I guess some of those 50,000 are also Arab-Israelis. I am talking about Israeli-Jews's.

Israeli American - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Most Jews in L.A or elsewhere won't be Israeli. Also there are many Jews that identify as Jewish but don't practice. While they might not even believe in God they still identify with being Jewish culturally.

I heard a recent interview with Larry King and he mentioned that he's an atheist even though he is definitely Jewish culturally and enjoys the culture.

There are definitely a lot of Jews in entertainment ,but I think talent+putting in the work does mean something.

From what I have seen culturally Jews do seem to have that hustle/entrepreneurial spirit in general. Entertainment business is one because that you do need those 'skills'. And I do have Jews in my family and friends so I'm not talking from some textbook or theoretical.

And regarding Jews in finance it's not a recent trend , and goes back thousands of years actually.

This is an interesting article about this
