Hi....just looking for feedback on this relocation....

things to know....

I am a 47yr old female relocating to be with my boyfriend....
I am selling all my things and buying new things when I get there
we are looking for an apt...currently he lives in a roommate situation now in LA
he is professionally employed...
I am planning to return to school and possibly work pt
I have no kids....

so this is what I would like to know.....

what can I expect? I will be on my own most of the time because of the hours he works....

tips....warnings...I am an easy going person and adapt easily......

any suggestions on things or what to expect would be helpful

also I am driving my car out there.....headed through the southern states to avoid bad weather....praying we can do it in 3 days.....

thanks for any feedback....

Your query is a bit too open-ended for the huge, diverse LA metro. I suspect Syracuse and LA have very little in common so it may test your adaptability.

I recommend studying the numerous "moving to LA" threads in this forum to get a notion of what to expect.

Keep in mind the LA maxim to live near your (future) work.

Not having to consider school districts for kids will vastly open up housing options.

We have a great array of public colleges but tuition will be higher until you establish residency.

LA tends not to offer stuff to do on your doorstep; you have to exercise some initiative in finding it. If you do, there are more things than any human could consume.

The first thing that popped in my head was "why isn't your LA boyfriend being more helpful, considering that you're selling off everything to move here?"

A three day cross-country trip is certainly doable, although, why not take some time to check out the country?

Good luck.
