LA County OKs $1,000 Fine For Throwing Football, Frisbee On Beaches « CBS Los Angeles

Apparently the county board of supervisors has just passed a new ordinance that bans throwing footballs and frisbees on the beach. If you are as upset about this as I am please write your local supervisor and express your concern/frustration and ask them to overturn these stupid new rules. : eek:

Big salaries to nimrods who devise more ways to suck the joy out of life.
One of these days, I'll be setting sail over the horizon.

Time for OLAB: Occupy LA Beaches.

With frisbees and footballs.

We're really talking about beaches in CA with no frisbees? Has anybody ever got hurt from a friggin' frisbee? And why did volleyballs get a pass? Oh yeah, the revenue-generating tournaments.

Next, they'll require an environmental impact report and permit from the coastal commission for laying out a towel.

Surely throwing frisbees at the beach isn't as dangerous as being in the crowd of a cricket match..

WOW! This just may be one of the dumbest damn things I've ever heard! Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties are probably licking thier chops at the added $$ heading thier way this summer as people head to those beaches. Lord have mercy!!

While we're at it, let's forbid those damn kids from digging holes on the beach -- I almost sprained my ankle stepping in one of those. Sand castles should only be built above the sand! Sand castle dungeons will require a special permit.

How about outlawing paddle balls? Not because they're dangerous or anything but the people playing always look like dorks (and they know it) and that just ruins the beach image.

Don't get me started on speedo's ...

Man, I posted that before reading the article:

"... the ordinance also prohibits digging any hole deeper than 18 inches into the sand except where permission is granted for film and TV production services only."

LOL
