Hardly. My point is that this is just one more thing to make life more difficult in L.A.

People come to this site all the time asking about the quality of life in L.A. This story is an example of what you might have to deal with if you choose to live there - and it's your tax dollars that pay for it.

It's everywhere, not just LA. Here in the middle of Colorado too.

Bummer.

Oh please. You can't be serious. The city of LA has 4 million people and is 470 square miles in size. The vast majority of residents are not effected and probably weren't even aware of this problem until the news report.

I first recall reading about crack heads stripping aluminium from various infrastructure on the east coast and mid west. Now methamphetamine users have caught on in the mid west & California and theft of private property has become more common than public/govt property, especially with the cost of cooper on the rise.

Not only do they go after public utlities, but will climb onto the roofs of strip malls, commercial buildings, retail centers etc and raid the air conditioning units of the aluminium and cooper.

Vacant buildings are most common especially for the cooper sprinkler piping suspended from the ceilings and easily detached.

It is important to centrally alarm both the interior of a building or business as well as the valuable equipment on the roof.
