Our story is much different. We took our honeymoon in L.A. back in April. I had been there several times, but the wife had never been. She fell in love with the place! We like the "dirty" feel to the city, I know to you who live there that sounds stupid, but when you grow up in a "perfect" little hick town you really want to see something different. From Venice Beach to the Sunset Strip to the hills of Beverly (Beverly Hills Ninja quote) it is all great!!! A week of total fun!!! Yeah, the traffic on the 405 was the only thing that sucked really. Once we get moved there we will avoid at all costs having to get on the 405 to get to work. Other than that it was wonderful.
Theres alot to do and even if you live there for 10 years (like my friend has) you will still not see everything. Just go!!! Have FUN!!!! And congratulations and good luck!!!!!

Aussie-gal, c'mon, rent a car, without a car in California, your honeymoon will not be as much fun, here are some other suggestions:

Museum of Tolerance
Home - Museum of Tolerance NEW

Catalina Island
Catalina Island (http://www.catalina.com/main.html - broken link)

Cabazon outlet stores (great for shopping)
Welcome to Cabazon Outlets

If you like great Seafood, go to Parker's Lighthouse in Long Beach
Parker's Lighthouse Restaurant

Great Steak, 555 East

I would do the Seaworld, Universal Studios combo, plan a day for each.

Enjoy your honeymoon!

I do not recommend San Diego if you don't plan on driving - public transportation is not really conducive to sight-seeing here. If you are set on California, San Francisco and Santa Barbara would be better honeymoon locations.

Since you love theme parks though, Florida would be a great choice.

I would do all the parks in Florida, with the exception of doing Magic Mountain if you like, but I say avoid Los Angeles.

Florida is very humid and there are tons of mosquitos. Take that into consideration
PS- Redneck population is almost matched with Indiana
