I am doing the same move, and over xmas. From Vermont to Burbank (Crane Aerospace near Bob Hope Airport. $3000 for a 2br 2bth apt in Studio City (Archstone Apts) is what I'm currently looking at. Income is $2K-$4k take home per week, so I should be able to handle it. The area seems to be safe from what I've read about on this forum. And I too would like to find something before I arrive, since I have to be at my job on Jan 7.

But I am considering a room for rent, because I don't like to live alone, and I have two cats that get lonely because I'm not around. I'm no actor, but I am a musician, and I have performed in gigs, so a little acting goes on there. I'm hesitant to suggest that we share this upscale 3rd story 1150 sq ft apartment, with garage parking, gated, with laundry and pool and internet, etc., etc.

Three month lease would be a good time to test the waters and see where you really want to live. Non-smoking though, sorry.

Think about it.

Otherwise, I was going to ask if Colfax/Collins (North Hollywood) is an acceptable area to live in? I have a nice set of drums and digital piano that I don't want to get stolen. Any suggestions for Burbank area near Bob Hope Airport?

I am a single female (41) who will be working 7am to 7pm M-F, and most Saturdays, so I won't be around much. Also plan to be renting a practice room too, so I will be even more scarely around (any suggested rehearsal places that have good security and safe??).

Stephanie
