But for traditional, albeit outside the immediate L.A. area, I really dig Donahoo's in Pomona and elsewhere inland. I did have some fantastic fried chicken at IIRC the Grand Californian Hotel near Disneyland. I could taste the buttermilk soak.
I LOVE Korean Fried Chicken. It's my son's favorite. I would take him to Kyochon as a treat, but I learned to make it myself.

According to this article, the three remaining locations are: Bell, Boyle Heights and West LA.

Pioneer Chicken - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I haven't eaten at one in probably 15-20 years. I lived in South Pasadena years ago and would visit the location in Alhambra (Valley and Atlantic or Garfield) quite regularly. It's been many years since I have even been in the area, but I know that the Alhambra location has closed years ago, as with the location in Echo Park.

That was the best chicken in the country, let alone this city.
I really wish they were still around.
Any idea where the remaining three are?
Bob.

Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles is my favorite when it comes to fried chicken. It's just an awesome combination.

Zankou Chicken is always a good choice as well for chicken kebob or a rotisserie chicken.

I don't think I've tried enough of these places...

Furaibo's house special fried chicken is awesome though.

Dino's chicken is unique.

It comes sitting on a bed of fries, drenched in that day-glo orange secret sauce. Remember to ask for EXTRA sauce, so the fries get good and soaked.

It used to be 4.99 for half a chicken, tortillas, and fries, though I'm sure that's gone up some.

This thread is gonna make me fat(ter).

The way the chicken combo is served is very unique indeed. I would recommend it to anyone who has heard of it and wants to try it, of course.
