I can't believe that I just found out about this gem yesterday. This is an old theater that shows older movies every day of the week. It's inexpensive and the snacks are also inexpensive. I had a great time there. It's like going to movies in the old days.

Looks like something to check out. They have some pretty odd films. What did you see? They're showing Serenity tonight! Should be an odd crowd of firefly fans.

I saw "Jackie Brown" and "Coffy"- 2 Pam Grier classics. The schedule for May looked better to me than for June. I missed "Soylent Green" and "Logan's run"- 2 of my scorched earth favorites.

The New Beverly Cinema is a revival house and these types of theaters used to be fairly common. In the days before video stores and broadband, this was pretty much the only way to catch up on classic, cult and foreign movies.

I'm almost positive that the New Beverly is now owned by Quentin Tarantino.

Don't most large metros have at least one of these?
