Thanks for the imput everyone

Im going to LA to scope out some areas and will only have a day or two free to explore. I want to go do some touristy things, so what should i do.
Id quite like to go to the bergamot station in santa monica. What LA landmarks should I visit? (And gangbangin isnt my idea isn't my idea of a fun weekend for anyone who suggests going to Compton.)
Thanks

Doesn't exactly sound like a positive word, does it Jack?

What kind of artist are you? That might help people offer you some suggestions.

Quite diverse really, I didn't really mean going to look at art, just LA stuff in general (hollywood sign etc.)

I just assumed if you were a serious artist, there might be things to see that would be especially appealing to you. If you were a musician maybe I'd recommend a certain club, a painter a certain gallery or museum, an actor a certain studio or neighborhood.

Two days is not a lot of time to explore LA so I was trying to understand what is most interesting to you to narrow down some suggestions. If you are just looking for run of the mill touristy stuff, go to Hollywood, Sunset Strip, Universial Studios, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, The Grove, etc.

Thanks, I think all do all of that. I was just going to do the normal tourist stuff as I was in town for a couple of days. I'd love to go to a good jazz club or something interesting at night. Since LA has some pretty cool architecture, I'd like to go and see some of it (John Lautner etc.) any suggestions?

Hollywood/Hollywood Hills. The best club is Le Deux in Hollywood. Hollywood is very artsy, but if you decide to live in Hollywood try to get an apartment on Franklin Avenue off of La Brea, it's safer in 90046 zip code, and your close to celebs in the Hollywood Hills. The Hollywood Hills area would be a little bit more expensive.
