Now imagine the before and after if the baseline was 1984. Back then, Fear's song "I Love Livin' In the City" was not too much of an exaggeration.

Yes, especially in reference to downtown LA and holllywood. I am old enough to have seen Fear at the Grand Olympic Auditorium in 1984 on the edge of downtown. DLTA now and then is like night and day.

Or walk over the Arts District where Al's bar used to be. That area has done a total 180...almost enough to make you long for the nostalgia of a bygone era when the only artists downtown were starving artists.
