Concerts at the Hollywood Bowl and getting off the 101 at Highland Avenue... UGHHHHHHHH!

(Though I guess that's more street based).

Yes. I recently had the misfortune of driving from downtown L.A. to the 110 north to the 210 east around 5:30 pm on a weekday and there was a lot of that.

If I had to make that commute every day--or even once a week--I'd jump off a cliff.

Is it just me, or that this driving behavior is unique here? I'm from the Mid-Atlantic and we know how to merge, use the left lanes, high beam signaling, horns, etc...

Driving in LA or DTLA is eerie as you don't hear drivers using there horns. The reason as it was explain to me was that if you get honked, it's not a warning and just an audio version of saying **** you.

Where in LA are you driving where someone thanks you with a horn beep instead of a wave?

Yep, the Hollywood Bowl is exactly what I was thinking about when I typed this out. Both the streets and freeway can get backed up. Dodger games are pretty bad for both the freeway and the streets.

I hate people.
And at the opposite extreme:

The Belmont Stop - People Behaving Badly - YouTube

(It's actually up here in the Bay Area but there is little difference in mentality over the 350 miles ... BTW the area it's in is very similar to what you'd find around Coldwater Canyon near the BH - Studio City border ... high end!)

the temperature drops below 85 & everyone freaks out about how cold it is & scrambles around their car looking for their heavy coats. This causes traffic jams.
