My landlord pays about $80/mo for her illegals to come over. They come over weekly, though hard to see what they do since her grass really doesn't grow that much. Her front and back yard are small. She says that they charge her less than others because she referred to them to her 2 neighbors. Does $80/mo sound about right?

sounds awfully cheap to me. I bet they don't even realize how much most people charge. We pay more than that, depending on how many times we have it done, here in AR.

My daughter in law was recently quoted $75/mo for her new house in Anaheim. Lawn only, no tree or bush trimming.

I think it depends on how large the yard is that needs care and what you want them to do. I've paid as much as $120 per month for full-service lawn care for a rental home I own. The work was never satisfactory for the money paid. I have had the same guy now since 2008 who mows and edges only and I couldn't be happier. He is there weekly and I pay him $50 per month.

$40 is pretty standard for twice-a-month cut and blow. My colleague pays about $70 for once-a-week... that's considered really cheap.

I pay $70/month. I have a large yard -- 1/4 acre -- but very little landscaping, mostly just grass: mow and blow.

My neighbor pays the same gardener $75/month but he has nice landscaping more complex to keep up.

IIRC in my old Northridge house, about 1/9 acre, I paid $65 a month for not much more than mow and blow, and the occasional weed. My gardener there just killed any plants he didn't like. Maybe some of them hated him and committed suicide.

is that once a week or less/ If it is once a week we are really paying way too much here. We have about 1/3 of an acre; we pay $30 each time (every 2 weeks) he simply cuts and uses the edger.

You probably don't have as many illegals in Ark. There are lots of them over here, which keeps the price down. But by the same token, it also discourages Anerican born kids from mowing yards to make some extra cash.

$35/mo mow and blow, 2 visits per month. The business is won by a sharp dependable guy, but he sends morons who act like they don't understand a word of english when they decapitate the spinkler heads. I have to use my housekeeper to translate my yelling into their preferred language.

I'm so old I remember that in Los Angeles when gardeners were Asian.
