In no order...based on my own experience these are places I think are good to live in and you dont have to subscribe(that much) to the materialism that is so rampant nowadays.

If scenery does it for you than so be it... Culture is much more important to reasonable people. The people that reside in a community make up that community...not scenery!!!! It is very beautiful, but its not enough!
