LA city and Calif. state are sanctuary city and state. All my life unions had total control of all construction jobs. A union construction job was a sure ticket to be solidly middle class. A decade or two ago cheap immigrant labor began to break the unions back.
1 in 6 construction workers are off the books now. Calif lost out on $473 million in 2011 because of illegal construction work.
In drywall and flooring a quarter of laborers are illegal.
Construction in Calif. is a $152 billion industry and illegal employment has surged 400% since 1972.
Since the recent recession only 2/3rds of the legal construction jobs that disappeared have since returned.
The above from a article in the LA Times.

The folks in LA want "job creation" from the politicians, this is the result of these desires!
