Wow, cool picks! I bet that school would be proud to know you're still recommending.

My concerns are only wild fires, and safety.. Plus, one of my kids has Tourettes, so, a good special needs program or understanding school would be nice. A lot of teachers I've run into in the past don't know much about Tourettes so it's difficult. I can always homeschool or online school which I've done in Phoenix now for several years due to lack of support from the school system.

I'm really wanting to know which has the best overall feel. Warm enough for a pool to swim during the summer, larger homes that aren't a million dollars and where nice neighbors aren't the minority. I make about 100,000 a year give or take.

Oh, and coming from Phoenix, nothing will be too hot for me so that's not a concern. lol

Santa Clarita sounds perfect for you. Tons of new construction and the heat doesn't bother you. It would be silly to live in Simi or Northridge and then commute all the way up there. In fact, many people choose to live in Santa Clarita and then commute 1+ hour a day to LA (as a reference for how desirable it is to some people).

Santa Clarita is a very family friendly suburb. Good schools and safety, and the city organizes a lot of activities for its residents.

Very hot in the summer, and pleasant throughout the year.

Mostly new-ish and brand new homes... from $500k to $million+.

I think you might be priced out of Simi Valley if you want a newer house.

Santa Clarita is the obvious choice!

Yes, have to watch out for wildfires! They can get close to some houses in Santa Clarita.

As for safety, I think Santa Clarita, along with Simi Valley and Thousand Oaks is on the "safest cities" list. Or used to be, anyway.

Santa Clarita, still reasonably priced (last time I checked) and decent schools. Very suburban feel and safe.

You will want to be in Santa Clarita and their special education programs are pretty good and you'll get better services for your kid than in LA. trust me on this one... I have never seen such a skeleton system, in all my years, as what we have in LA.
