You could pretty much say that about the whole state. Sikhs, Hmong, Filipinos, Cambodians, Hindus, Pakistanis, Muslims, Hasidic Jews, Russians, you name it, we've got lots of 'em all over, and way more than most other states….except it's simply more 'concentrated' in L.A..

Put LACMA and the Getty Center in Downtown LA and it already would be the cultural center of the West Coast. But Los Angeles is (and always will be) a multi-centered city. Too bad that back in the 1980's when sites were being analyzed, the J. Paul Getty trust was more interested in creating a monastery on a hill than engaging its home city. Oh well, LACMA has a better collection anyway.

^^And Manhattan and London have no traffic problems. LOL. Not saying Downtown LA is going to match those two spots but traffic is endemic to all of LA. DTLA's role as a hub of the emerging rail system will only strengthen it going forward.

I'm not sure that Salem, OR will be the cultural hub of the WC just because it doesn't have as bad of traffic as LA...
