Hello, moving to L.A. soon and I'll be living in KoreaTown, I'm wondering how safe it is?

I think most people consider Korea Town to be pretty average for LA: slightly sketchy. Neither good nor bad. Just follow basic common sense and you should be fine.

Lots of property crimes.

Wouldn't call it safe.

I'd call it average for a highly urban area.

S. Lafayette Park Place is not even in Koreatown unless the traditional boundaries have been expanded. I know there was talk of that a few years ago. Easier to help if you give a cross street. Your new place could actually be in historic filipinotown or Westlake.

I seriously think Westlake, though beautiful with the lake and park, is not an area you should consider at all. It's high crime night and day IMO.

Yes its still around. I heard you can pick up your order curbside after calling it in to avoid lingering in the area. Try Johnny's in Culver City.

^^^ I've eaten with coworkers at Langer's a bunch of times. Zero issues with eating there or lingering there.

The area was very sketchy 20 years ago. Definitely much better now though I'd not suggest it as a place to live.

I've been to concerts in the park in the last year. No issues. Langer's is fantastic no need to do curbside pick up.

If you go during the daytime hours there are absolutely no issues. It's simply too crowded with pedestrians and traffic for you to get mugged or something. During the day, the only people that would have problems are non-Hispanics who have an issue being a fairly extreme minority in the neighborhood they are walking around in.
