What are some areas in Torrance that are safe, quiet, and walkable? we are looking to rent 2 bed, 2 bath, for winter months, condo, townhouse.

Not much of torrance is "walkable" as in stores/services that are walking distance from home. However South Torrance(90505) is the most desirable and the nicest to go for a stroll in. Home prices are most expensive here and the housing stock is mostly SFH.

South T. is followed closely by West Torrance(90503), here there are more condos, it is a very nice and safe area, it just lacks the treelined streets of the south.

Old Torrance(90501) and North Torrance(90504) are not very desirable but they are safe and affordable.

The old town portion.

Particularly any of the area within a few blocks of Cabrillo Ave, between Torrance Bl and Carson St. Several small cafes, a brewpub, post Office, several other restaurants and bars, even sort of a night clubbish place at Keegans.

Its real low key...has a very small town feel to it. Do a google street view at the intersection of Sartori Ave and El Prado Ave if you want to get a look at what the area is like.
