They just unveiled a memorial in the NW corner of Memorial Park for the Armenian tragedy 100 years ago. It's a black metal triangle with a round area below. The black metal part looks cooler in the aerial shots.

The disappointing thing is that very close to the statue, there is a fenced-in area with rocks, garbage and even an outdoor outhouse. Some planning people messed up royally here.

They also messed up by putting it in Pasadena instead of Glendale

The oldest and largest Armenian Genocide memorial in the United States is surprisingly in Montebello.

You do realize Pasadena has a large Armenian population also?

yes, but I doubt the per capita Armenian population is bigger than Glendale.

And that affects whether or not the people of Pasadena wish to build a monument there because...?

Even the current mayor of Montebello has an Armenian last name.

IIRC, Montebello was one of the first U.S. cities to offer help to Armenian refugees.

Your perception of what an American is is wrong and bigoted. America represents many colors and ethnicities, including immmigrants.

So even Obama has come out and declared the "event" was not genocide. But seriously, please explain to me wtf Armenian genocide, massacre or whatever at the hands of Turks has to do with the United States? Seriously, I am an American who has lived in Glendale for 5 years and I still don't get it. Why do Armenians need to drive around waving Armenian flags on their cars? Seriously, as an American, I find that highly disrespectful. If I moved to another country and decided to drive around flying an American flag I would probably be killed. More importantly, if I decided to leave my country and move to a much better country there would be a reason and I would want to assimilate into that country and culture.
