My boyfriend and I are looking for an apartment together. I'll soon be starting a job in Miracle Mile, and he works in Long Beach. Where the heck can we live? So far we've considered Ktown (I'd take surface streets, he'd take the 110 against traffic), downtown (same, but seems too expensive and I hate downtown), and Monterey Park (he takes the 710 against traffic, I fight my way down the 60/10). I much prefer Monterey Park to the others due to family and other reasons, but it would definitely have the worst commute for me. Any other places I've overlooked?

Westchester perhaps. You could take la cienega and he could use the 405.

Not an easy one given your dislike for Downtown LA which is the best geographic compromise with the added plus of the blue line.

Culver City, West Adams, Highland Park, So. Pasadena...

If it were me, I'd live in Miracle Mile (even if it was me commuting to Long Beach).

Forget ktown, might as well live in miracle mile. Your bf will have bad time in traffic. Better than both of you going through it. There no area where both of you will have same commute time. South LA is geographically ideal but I wouldn't want to live there at least not for awhile.

Some good ideas here. I think I'm more patient/tolerant when it comes to sitting in traffic, so I may just need to take the hit on this one (and find some good podcasts to entertain me).
