No, it's something that comes up over and over again whenever homeless are mentioned, right now on an active thread on this very page.

Do you really need someone to explain this to you?

Here's the difference - it's one thing, to take some household items when your parents no longer need them, or even if they want to make you a nice gift, why not?

Another thing would be to sit and wait until October to get that free car, which his mom could trade-in to a dealership...
I'd wait until October for a free anything, if it was offered.

I believe, a man should not only be able to take care of himself, but also of his family and his parents.
Myself, yep. However with the cost of living being what it is here, the parents need to make other arrangements

The rest - blah blah blah.

You aren't unemployed, I presume. The OP is.

But all of my posts here were in that context, and you have missed my point completely.
I don't say it's not worth to ride a car, or a taxi, or Uber. I was saying that someone with limited finances and without a car, like OP, might reconsider option of taking public transportation where it is available, and in LA it's pretty good actually.

Read the title of this thread which is an open discussion about what people in LA think of Uber. It's not about how to save money on transportation (although Uber is cheaper than taxis.)
