I will add my opinion of some parts of the valley specifically Woodland Hills, West Hills, Sherman Oaks heck even Granada Hills is getting cleaned off. A lot of homeless were removed from these areas recently and houses have been selling for $50K+ over asking in some cases up $200K over asking. Lots of construction and renovations going on hopefully it means better and wealthier people moving in.

I agree. It is beyond disgusting. There’s a restaurant called Lady Bird close to Echo Park we go there every few months or so and the homeless issue in the park is just sad and a terrible eye sore.

It is beyond disgusting, tent after tent. The park is destroyed, families can't go there.

Where do you think these people are going to the bathroom?

So where were these homeless before? Evictions have been blocked the whole time. Did they appear out of nowhere?

Like I said before, I think it’s an orchestrated effort to halt gentrification.

A lot of them came from jail/prison. They've been emptying them out since COVID. They're not sending them back for violating parole.

A lot of areas that have been safe for the last 15 years aren't now. I don't think they'll be much gentrification in the next 5-10 years in LA, only slumification.

What is true gentrification anyway? I imagine the goal is to turn it into a high end area, but the reality seems like all they're doing is moving unsuspecting University or college students into a small acre or so area only surrounded by certain individuals who would later victumize them..

Even the past 5-10 years during the peak gentrification it was still slummy.. pretty cliche like storyline, it's like "well it can't get any worse" then it does lol

Homelessness in L.A. (and all over the country) was increasing long before the pandemic.

except Riverside county is not a part of LA. It's not even in the same county, as you stated yourself. It has no effect on Los Angeles except hopefully people from Riverside will stop commuting to Los Angeles, adding to the congestion.

You don’t sound very smart on the gentrification piece.
