Just the other day I heard some hipster(looked like a stereotypical hipster, like he was created to be made fun of) say, in the same conversation, that Los Angeles is awful because everything looks the same and is awful because it's too eclectic and not uniform enough.
Maybe I saw 909er?

Can't win with you, I guess. You just don't like LA, dude.

I hope you're not my buddy I used to work with when I worked in Chino. He was cool enough but had a horror of LA (lived in the Philips Ranch section of Pomona but told people he lived in Chino Hills because nobody knows Philips Ranch except locals but almost EVERYBODY has heard of Pomona (all the negatives)).

Infrastructure really that bad??
Your friend was probably referring to the people and neighborhoods, not the buildings, bridges, roads, etc.

I beg to differ. The 101 and 110 were built in the late 40s/early 50s. Not much improvement there. The 5 south from LA is just now starting to get improvement, but look how rundown it is. Most of the major freeways are
45+ years old. Is that infrastructure keeping up with the increased traffic demands?

I hear you, it definitely needs improvement, but if you've been to the third world our infrastructure is not literally the same as theirs. That goes for highways, the typical office building, the aiports, the freeways, etc. You can't even flush toilet paper there. You go number 2 and it must put it in the trash.
