L.A is supposedly cracking down on homeless camps...but right in the open on Hollywood Blvd in Los Feliz area I saw this today.

No this was not Skid Row ...it was "gentrified" Los Feliz..

Has anyone else seen this? Should this be acceptable? Tons of litter, trash and filth on the street.
And this is in the 'cool' 'hip' part of town...

I walked right through this ...it wasn't too pleasant..the smells, etc.

I also saw other parts of the surrounding areas where people had full on TENTs. Craziness!

You realize that area, if it's even actually Los Feliz, is right on the border of East Hollywood, don't you?

Yeah I know but there are a bunch of trendy places right around there
It's right on Hollywood and Hillhurst..
Also , if it is East Hollywood...should it still be acceptable?

Sylmar has hordes of the poorest of the poor illegal aliens, pit bulls everywhere, beat up old trucks full of trash but not very many homeless.

There's a huge, in your face, path blocking homeless camp on Ohio Avenue under the 405 in west la. Since so many commuters (and police) pass by it daily I'm not sure why it's still there.

Yeah that's crazy...I think I may have seen that a little while back..how long has it been there?

With this one it's on a super busy street ...I wouldn't think the business next to it or the businesses around it would like it.
This is beyond just , a homeless guy on the street. There were just mountains of trash all over the place.

So, jm, how many threads are you going to drive with your obsession of ragging on people with no place to go? The homeless in LA thread that just petered out a couple days ago leave you feeling empty and depressed? Need more action? Need a support group?

Homeless encampments are popping up all over LA. It seems like they try to crack down but they keep popping up.

As far as Los Feliz is concerned, the parts of Los Feliz above Los Feliz Blvd. or just below Los Feliz Blvd. have always been affluent and nice, but the areas close to Hollywood Blvd. tend to be grittier. And while those grittier areas have been going through gentrification, that doesn't preclude the area from having homeless tents pop up. Areas in and around Hollywood have had a fair number of transients for quite a while.

Just because Los Feliz has a "cool" and "hip" factor doesn't mean that it can't be filthy with a high homeless population. Whether or not it is acceptable, it is an economic reality as LA becomes increasingly expensive.

Fun fact--I grew up in one of the houses behind the Vista Theater.

That area has always had homeless and transients. That alley next to the Vista has plenty of homeless peeps walking through it all day.

Lots of homeless-type activities in the alley next to the old Ford dealership as well (basically the other side of the buildings where you took the pics)... the alley goes behind that new Goodwill all the way up the carwash on Vermont.

Come to downtown Beverly Hills. There are 2-5 crackheads on every street there.
I see at least two very aggressive persons on Crescent drive near Whole Foods everyday.
