Another LA landmark closing down to make way for yet ANOTHER hotel and no one seems to care. Most people in LA are so oblivious to everything its depressing. At least we still have our HOB in Anaheim!

it was built in the 90s, it's not even that old. I'm not sure landmark is the correct word in this case. there are plenty of other more landmark worthy concert venues in the area.

I think landmark meaning "an object or feature of a landscape or town that is easily seen and recognized from a distance, especially one that enables someone to establish their location", is appropriate here. A well known place doesnt have to be historically significant to gain the moderate notoriety, being on Sunset, that HOB achieved, imo. I too, am sorry to see it go.

I am not sure you are aware, but the building is being disassembled and stored as they look for another location in the LA area to open.

I hope it's in the Valley, where you can actually park.

What a shame. But I was in LA this past May and dont recall seeing the house of blues while I was there. I know its almost right across the Andaz west because thats the hotel I was at in the late 90's as a kid.

Not what all the news outlets are repotting. They say it's being demolished.

Oh good grief. It's only some second-rate night club, folks. Go check out The Whiskey or Laugh Factory instead of a club de jure featuring too many brasswinds and acoustic basses.

I heard it's going to be recycled. The metal roofing sheets are going to be used to help build several Prius bodies.

The House of Blues was a nice venue, and I'm kind of sad that it's closing. However, the parking was awful; I used to park across the street. I'm glad Steel Panther played the last show there; they were a regular fixture there for a long time. I hope HOB can relocate elsewhere, so it doesn't disappear entirely.
