Nice way to cause gridlock for all those who leave in the area and actually need a car to get things. To promote what?? Car-free streets!!! Clueless beyond comprehension.

Yeah, you are certainly in the minority. Most people love these things.

The owner of Tito's Tacos wanted to sue the city or something b/c she felt her business would suffer on that day. Most businesses (well at least restaurants) along the Cyclavia route report very good sales during these events. I wonder if she changed her mind after Cyclavia, or if sales actually did suffer.

EDIT: Looks like she backed off a bit when she learned about some of the benefits and the organizers worked with her to direct car-driving patrons to a nearby parking lot. I can see her having some customers who buy large quantities who might even resell them to construction workers or something. This was certainly the case when I worked at Carl's Jr., we would make like a 100 Famous Stars, 100 Spicy Chickens, 100 Western Bacons and some dude would buy them and then resell them to farm workers. Totally against the law, but probably made the management look good at our location due to great sales.
