Hi. We are relocating next summer. Husband working in Century City, daughter might be attending school in Santa Ana. Looking for a midway point, maybe Long Beach, Torrance or Redondo. Would love some feedback on these areas for family. Coming from a strong community on the east coast with lots of support and friendliness socially as well as in the schools. Hoping to find that again. Would love any feedback.
Will be looking to rent a townhome, 3 beds between $2500 and $3200 a month. TIA!

Is there something special about the school in Santa Ana? The drive to Santa Ana is faster than Century city, so you'd want to be closer to CC. Best case scenario live near century city with a 70 minute drive to Santa Ana. Living in Redondo or deep in Torrance can be a 15 minute drive just to the freeway.

I work in Long Beach. Stay south of 7th or near Bixby Knolls. The fact that Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg rap about Long Beach should get your attention.

I assume it's for OC school for the arts.

That's going to be a miserable commute for all parties involved.

Century City? Santa Ana? No, no, no.
Assuming dad's job is solid and non-negotiable, daughter would either have to rent (room) or share apt. someplace near her school or would have to find a much closer school otherwise as others mentioned, the commutes for everyone involved would get taxing very quick.

Uh, yeah, that's gonna be really rough. If you have to do it, thelopez2 gave the best advice. I don't know that that would be sustainable long term. OCSA is a good school, but you seem to have resources. I'd find something comparable to OCSA in W. Los Angeles area to enroll her in.
