A Chinese company is spending its own money to build it? Some of that has to flow to California. Let them build it!

BTW, I thought it was made illegal in 1882 for the Chinese to build railroads here.

How much will it cost for people to leave their cars overnight for several days in Victorville while they're in Vegas. The terminus point for this rail line is just so out of the way.

Agreed. California needs something out of this. This benefits Vegas at the expense of California. A quarter of tourism to Vegas are from SoCal alone. Not to mention the influx of people living in Nevada while coming to California for work. The jobs are here.

CA wins with this. They will generate tons of revenue from tickets, reduce traffic and co2 emissions. Less demand of fuel = lower prices too.

The Palmdale to Victorville portion expansion is going to environmental process according to their website. The Victorville to Vegas is already shovel ready I think. So it might connect the to Metrolink station in Palmdale in the future.

I wish the Amtrak Southwest Chief track should get upgraded as it goes through the Cajon Pass and into Victorville, too. It passes LAUS, Fullerton, San Bern, Riverside. So pretty much many people in those counties can get connected to the HSR line. That is an underused line. Would be a great asset if trains can speed up overall.

Since it is NEW news to most of us. We dont all future details. Exciting regardless of getting other future options to hitting desert communties and Vegas. I image multiple buses from all counties will bus thru connect to the HSR line. You wouldnt need to drive to all the way there.
