A high-speed rail from L.A. to Las Vegas? China says it's partnering with U.S. to build - LA Times

What do you guys think? Supposed to break ground exactly one year from this month. And no official date of completion.

By "LA area" they mean Victorville. So riders would take 90 minute Metrolink ride from LA to Victorville and transfer to bullet train from Victorville to Vegas (roughly 80 minutes).

And there's the problem. And of course, it's not what we voted for. But even when a judge stated that we aren't getting what we voted for, Brown declared we're building it regardless.

Instead of spreading representative government on the other side of the planet, why can't our leaders spread it right here?

Awesome. No more renting a car and driving hours in traffic just to go to Vegas.

There is no Metrolink route anywhere close to Victorville.

This is a completely different thing than the California high speed rail.

Overall I think this would be more for extending the party than anything practical. Get to Vegas with a healthy buzz going the moment you step off the train.

The question is how many people is the line operator going to have to pay to clean up all that puke?
