Probably in Hawaii.

Skid row isn't full of hospitals and doctor's offices, and certainly the ones sleeping out in the streets aren't following up that well (if it all) with medical care. And your basic shelter isn't full of social workers who help you fill out forms or arrange transportation for you.

Saying it is nearly nonexistent North of the 118 is like saying homelessness is nonexistent in Hollywood Hills. It's a pretty suburban hillside area. Although I do see different people with signs on the Balboa exit off the 118.

As far as the rest of the San Fernando Valley, its has recently been over run. They are everywhere, and you see makeshift homes set up under the freeway bridges and at the off ramps. It's like an episode of The Walking Dead.

My dad always said not to feed strays or they will never go away. So I don't give them money.

"Strays"? They're not animals. Develop some compassion.

Yes. I've been there. It's all missions. You don't have big hospitals in skid row. You don't have private practice doctors there. There's maybe a couple of clinics, but for full on medical services they would need to leave the area.

Theres lots of social workers, advocates, case managers, nurses and doctors. Numerous mental or health centers and clinics not only there but from outside the area give services and assist.
