I cant tell if this thread is for real or not. Some of these replies are acting as if this is a fairly normal thing in LA (although it probably is).

Your plan sounds good. Go for it. Best thing about LA and California is that you can be as "different" as you want to be out here. This is the place for it!

A long time ago I knew someone who living in their car and parked in the parking lot at LA Valley College and took showers at Holiday Spa fitness club.

I see a few people living in RV's around town.

I was trying to quote mdiggs1 there but I'm not sure I was doing it right so I don't know where my comments went xD
Anyway... I was trying to say that I'm all for alternative life styles but please don't tell someone that eating fast food every day is a good plan x)

The reason why the ban on living in your vehicle was first enacted was because Venice was being overrun with folks parking on the street then using lawns as toilets/showers/trash cans.

The owners of those lawns weren't too pleased.

* Kudos to the poster who mentioned SM's parking situation as a negative. Forgot about that. I was just thinking about the homeless on foot around the pier. The bus does run pretty regular going inland and over to Venice as well as Malibu. Maybe you could park in Malibu and commute via the bus to SM during the day in this endeavor.

It's mid-October and has been 90 degrees downtown nearly everyday this month. Sleeping in your car will be gross.
