Was hit and run by other driver. Which method would hurt his wallet more: filing through my insurance to pay for damages, or his? I have full comprehensive coverage so I do not have to pay a deductible if it helps. I want him to be responsible for the accident. Car has damages, but I don't think it is totaled.

Call your insurance company and report the accident. Give them the details and his insurance information. You'll get your car fixed. Leave it up to them to duke it out.

Unless you called the police and reported the accident immediately you aren't getting squat. A picture of someone's plate isn't evidence enough to file an insurance claim. First off you have to file with your insurance, your insurance needs an accident report from the police and then your insurance needs to go after the other driver's insurance... If they even had insurance. Insurance companies all have tons of lawyers. If all you have is your word and a picture of a license plate you aren't going to get far

This has happened to me many times in Southern California; each time a hit-and-run. Each one was an immigrant who likely was not here lawfully, and, of course, had no insurance.

If it happened in Glendale the driver wouldn't even have a license plate to take a picture of
