I HATE sunshine and hot weather. Seriously. I live in Santa Monica, on Ocean Blvd. I can see the Pacific from my balcony. Yet the last time I was actually ON the beach was in 1993. We were shooting a film.

I love this time of year, because it gets dark early. I can walk the streets early. Normally, I avoid walking the streets in daylight, unless I must. I drive about L.A. from underground garage to underground garage, in my air-conditioned car.

I keep thinking of moving to Seattle, because I love gray, drizzly skies. I visit Seattle during the winters, to get some Christmas spirit. Walking amid all that gray and drizzle energizes me. Revitalizes me. I'm just so happy walking those gray, rain-slicked streets, I could cry with joy. I feel in my element.

It's always so depressing to return to this bright, brown, sun-baked land. Truly depressing. But, it's where The Business is. Alas.

Of course, L.A. isn't so bad after sundown.

I was raised in New York City, FWIW.
By all meams, please do everyone, including yourself, a huge favor.

Ionizers were advertised on late-night infomercials, along with the usual juicers, diet plans, and various contraptions designed to give you "washboard abs" in minutes a day.

Ionizers claimed to negatively charge the air in your room, adding electrons to the air, or whatever. The manufacturers claimed that this purified the air. Made your room smell fresh, like after a rain. They were also supposed to help eliminate dust by statically charging the dust so it would be easier to trap in the air filter, or whatever.

I bought an Air Ionizer in the 1990s. I didn't notice any difference in my air quality. Nor was my room any less dusty.

You can still buy Ionizers, but they don't seem to be marketed so heavily anymore. The fad has passed. Only the hardcore believers still buy them.
Sounds like the pink Himalayan salt lamp craze that's going on now.

Did you notice a skunk like odor when you first came across these mood boosting ions by the beach?
