First thank you for taking the time to read my thread! I had originally posted a similar thread however my living situation/ work location has changed.

I'm born and raised in San Diego, CA. However have been working out of Cincinnati, OH and will be relocated to our Long Beach location next month. Originally I was going to split time between Pomona and LB however I am now working exclusively in LB. I'll be moving with my girlfriend and two 55lb dogs.

I've spoken to and made viewing appointments with some apartments and wanted some input as to which location would be best between downtown LB, Belmont Shores and Seal Beach

About us:

- I am 24, fully employed by a great firm, enjoy nightlife and being relatively close to the water( hey, I'm from SD)
- my girlfriend is a sous chef who will be looking for work in fine dining( she previously worked at Mister A's in San Diego. If anyone has recommendations they are greatly appreciated!
- We are looking for a 1 bedroom and our budget is $2200/mo

Here's what I've gathered thus far:
Downtown LB: more lively for our age group than Seal beach, but higher crime.
Seal Beach: More laid back( maybe similar to OB in San Diego?), safer, quieter and better water( I surf casually once or twice a month) I'm not sure about night life.
Belmont Shores: from what I see online this is the nicer part of LB, however haven't been able to find much info regarding safety, night life etc.

We appreciate any advise!

Belmont Shores is the best location of the three. Still a happening place, but safe. And you can still get to downtown LB pretty quickly to enjoy the nightlife there.
