There is plenty of good pizza out here.

In fact, that is part of the "problem." My friend and I will have to decide which place to take her friend.

Here are some examples (photos) of the pizza parlors I visit:

Wow, no way. Just ate there in November, and have for years. One of my favorite pizzas anywhere. Thanks for letting me know.

You are aware that there are like 3 different types of Chicago style pizza, right?

I am not a fan of Chicago at all, but pizza is something they excel at.
Yes, I'm aware. I've been to Chicago more times than I can remember and have ate at the best places there. I'm not a fan of Chicago or their pizza, but that's for another thread.

If you HAVE to take to her to get pizza in LA the Pizzeria Mozza would be a pretty consistent offering.

but really Pizza & LA culturally doesn't fit for me.

I think most people would think it has too many carbs (seriously)

Take her to a vegan place like Stuff I eat in Inglewood that would jibe more w/ LA.

But if pizza it is-- ignore my last three paragraphs.

De Sano's in E Hollywood is a worthy successor.

Well, pizza from practically anywhere is going to have carbs.

If we do go to a pizza place, might as well get regular pizza (not vegan).

But thanks for the suggestions.

Pizzeria Mozza is very good. Stella Rossa in Santa Monica makes a very similar pizza to Mozza. Make reservations if you want to dine in, both places are very popular.

I had some random pizza slices in NYC... I didn't think they were anything too special.

Maybe I didn't pick up the subtle favors and nuances, but I am not a pizza connoisseur or anything like that.

Perhaps OP's friend isn't a pizza expert either.
