I made the mistake of going to the Natural history museum today and it was bumper to bumper for 30 min just to get into the parking lot only for them to tell me "Sorry we're full" so I drove around trying to find a space. Then the museum is like a 2 hour wait to get in. Is it always like that? I don't want to go back after that experience!

Thank you. We didn't even go to the NHM (who has time to wait in a 2 hour line?) we just went to the Science Center. We drove from Redlands (a suburb of San Bernardino) and with all the waiting and everything it was just a disaster with my daughter. I might try the metrolink next time but will have to wait awhile to get over this bad experience! LOL

Today was free museum admission day, which was why it was so crowded.

Yep, I thought hey I can save money, turns out I would have gladly paid the 17.00 for myself and my kid just to avoid that madness. When we left the Science Center at 2PM the line for the NHM was about 2 1/2 hours long. Yikes.

I feel your pain. I live just five minutes away from the Science Center and the Natural History Museum. I thought of going to LACMA today, but I was too tired and my friends wanted to be there early.

Wouldn't have been that bad if they had it on a weekday.

Yeah. I learned my lesson "the cheap becomes expensive" or so they say. Kudos to you for dealing with the traffic around there, the freeways were a mess too. I'm fortunate that my freeways where I live are nice and clear.
