My life has recently taken me away from the western parts of LA County. We really enjoy Tito's burritos, and Phillipes french dip sandwiches. I am just wondering if anybody here, by way of commuting or maybe having family in the Eastern suburbs and areas, might know of restaurants similar to these. Thanks!

Tito's Tacos isn't really that unique - it's pretty generic Americanized Mexican fast food which is notable more for how long it's been around rather than the quality of the food. You should be able to find older Americanized Mexican places in Eastern LA County or the IE. Baker's, the original fast food Americanized Mexican chain which spawned Taco Bell, Del Taco, and Naugles, still exists in the IE.

You can find French dip sandwiches at a lot of oldschool burger and pastrami joints.

You know the Original Tops in East Pasadena next to the 210? There are A LOT of similar restaurants in the eastern areas. Everyone does French dip and classic American sandwiches/burgers a bit differently... so you might actually find a hidden gem that serves better food than Phillipe.

I'd use Yelp and search for the terms French dip or hard shell tacos or stuff like that and put in the city you are in .

Maybe even use the term titos tacos or Phillipes might help . In review people might say stuff like " this place reminds me of titos tacos " etc

When I lived in Pasadena, we always loved Pepe's, for Mexican food. Family run, great authentic food and friendly service.
Locations in Alhambra, Covina and Temple City.

Pepe
