I got a parking ticket in a 2hr parking limit zone. The ticket marks my Offense Time at 10:00am and my Time Marked at 3:47pm. Problem is, I was not parked on the street at 10:00am to be marked. I was parked on private property (my job's parking lot). The particular spot I was at when ticketed was from 2:50pm-4:34pm. I still had 16 minutes to be there before it'd be over the 2 hr limit.

The Citation comments were:
APPROX ADDRESS. N/A. U/A. NPV. ACROSS FROM SP 2H PRKNG 8A-6P OBS 1:30 CHALK LR4. YELLOW CHALK.

What does "OBS 1:30 CHALK LR4" mean? There was definitely NO chalk; I checked. Even still, how could he mark me at 10:00am if I wasn't parked there?

I'm guessing 1:30 is the original chalk line. If they come back two hours later, and you're still there, they ticket you (since you are parked there for more than two hours.)

You can try to contest it. I got a ticket I felt unfair last fall, filled out the form to contest it online...still haven't heard back yet...don't know if that's a good thing or not.

Be very thorough and courteous in your explanation.

That's why I'm confused/ It says the Offense Time (when they fist clocked me in this spot) was at 10am and they chalked me at 1:30. Shouldn't the offense time and chalk time be the same? It's irrelevant in the end, because where I was parked when I was ticketed is was not where I was parked at 10am and not where I was parked at 1:30 pm. I was in a different place at all three of those times.
