There is only one Silicon Valley I know of, but mistaken plural aside, the development of Silicon Beach has certainly boosted rents on the west side such that those who now can't afford areas such as Santa Monica and Venice are heading inland to areas such as Culver City, which has certainly become more expensive.

Parts of Culver City are run down as well as the area East of Venice but they could gentrify in the future.

Wouldn't it have had an effect already? You phrased the question as if Silicon Beach isn't a thing yet.

As Silicon Beach continues to grow it will be a Huge Economic Boost for the region in my opinion, but the prices for homes and rentals are more than likely gonna jump up dramatically wherever it expands.

Silicon Beach is one of the main drivers for the westside's real estate prices to nearly double in the last five years. while i'm sure culver city has been impacted to a certain extent, I think Playa Vista, Santa Monica, and Venice have been much more impacted by the growth of the tech industry in LA.

I agree. I think people now equate any appreciation = gentrification.

The tech industry is already scaling back on growth. VCs are holding onto cash and are not making as many investments. Since Silicon Beach does not have many entrenched companies, mainly startups, the near future might be stagnant.

In general, I believe every market will take away from Silicon Valley. The cost of living has finally reached a tipping point and many are saying enough is enough. If VC money dries up, it might take a little more to attract talent, but if the current level is maintained, they will come.
