California's mediocre speed rail project: This thing is estimated to be completed in 2029 (even though we all know there is no money to complete it and that it would take much longer). By then this "high speed rail" which is really a mediocre-speed rail, will be ANTIQUATED! They're already talking about building a hyper-speed rail in Europe by 2020. 760 miles per hours versus a paltry 220 miles per hour.
The Hyperloop is about to be built

So don't do anything because a rail project in Europe will be faster? That's like quitting your job because a coworker has a nicer car than you do.

I thought Hyper Loop Rail was being tested here, in CA, by Elon Musk.

Particularly when that car is a two-seater and he relies on it drive his 9 kids to school.

No. Don't build a 200 billion dollar rail that is going to be antiquated. By the way people have been using planes to fly long distances for years now. We don't need a 200 billion dollar high speed rail now.
